Great indie game, dont expect a complex AAA game, but a game with very simple mecanics (left, right, shoot up and dodge) but with very entertaining levels, variety between them, and some nice humor. Recomended if you value easy gameplay that is hard to master. It's not a highly complex game, and yet, It's the best version of Pang i ever played, and the old arcade theme is a great icing on the cake. Well animated, simple yet solid gameplay, cool music and cool mood overall. A great way to waste a day! ^^. Juanito Arcade Mayhem is slick, fast and packed with a great sense of humor. Each worlds offers a twist into the core mechanics, as not only you get new enemies and items, the mechanics change to match the world's game (in the Pacman world you can only defeat the enemies if you eat the power pills, in the Arkanoid you are on top of a paddle and the enemies spawn over bricks, etc.) culminating in a unique (and often insane) boss fight. The art and the animations are absolutely amazing. You can tell that there was a ton of love and work put into each one of them. I can't praise them enough. They are a joy watch, but at the same time, they don't distract you from the game itself. They blend perfectly into it.And, last but not least, the game runs super smoothly, even in my old desktop, which makes it all the more enjoyable :DEdit.: Over a year after the game came out, the developers keep adding more content!. Quite simply if you love Pang then your going to love this game. Similar to the Bug Butcher but with a nice retro twist on the levels from some old school games like Tetris, pac man and adventure island. Very addictive and with a survival mode thrown in there is always something to come back to once you have finished the campaign. A nice set of achievements in there too.. This game needs some sort of dodge that doesn't suck then it would be much better. Also an option to skip the boss intro after you have seen it once would be nice.Edit: My original review was too short.Juanito Arcade Mayhem is a cute game with wonderful graphics and simple gameplay, shoot up and move left to right. There are many games in this genre but what makes this one stand out is the wonderful artwork and fun premise, your video games have been infected and it's up to you to save them. In order to do that you will jump into a variety of different oldschool video game settings such as donkey kong, pac man, pong, and others. The game is a bit repetitive and to make up for that they have included power ups that you unlock through out the stages and a dash button. The power ups are serviceable but typical nothing special there but nothing too bad either. The only bad thing I'd have to say about them is that they seem to be random, one time I would become overwhelmed on a level and lose then start the level again getting power ups I didn't before and waltz through it no problem at all.The dash felt lacking to some degree. You can tap the dash or hold it for a longer dash. Too often it didn't help, I would dash only to run into something else. The enemy designs are cool looking. The virus like blobs infecting your game will bounce around the screen, break into smaller parts when you shoot them, and some have special effects such as leaving fire spots where they bounce. Unfortunately many of them weren't very fun to fight they began to feel repetitive or simply weren't very enjoyable leaving things on the ground that fully blocks your movement making it impossible to not take a hit if you got trapped. The Bosses on the other hand are pretty wonderful. Each area of the game has 10 levels and ends with a boss fight. Each felt unique and looked fantastic. The only problem is that if you die to a boss get ready to watch an intro repeat every single time you start it over, with no way to skip it this was frustrating. My favorite boss in the game (world 3's axe throwing men) was made much worse when I died to it around 5 times, each time I had to start over I was forced to watch a 10 second or so intro. A skip feature would be nice for that but it is a somewhat minor thing. The levels are really great in terms of aesthetic but actually playing them can vary from fairly enjoyable to fairly annoying. In Pacman world you had to eat a power pellet to be able to harm enemies and you could walk right and loop around to the left or vice versa. This entire world was pretty great. Other worlds such as Brickbreaker force you to shoot up and break tiles that are in your way so you can shoot the bad guys. This isn't too bad or anything mostly just an annoying extra step that didn't really add much to the level. Level's like pong have an annoying ball shooting back and forth that is somewhat hard to keep track of and impossible to interact with leading to a few hits that feel undeserved. In the end this genre of game is by nature a little simple and can't hold my attention for very long. The randomness\/basicness of the power ups and lackluster regular enemies makes replaying levels for high scores or fun feel a little underwhelming. To it's credit there is a lot of content here for the 10 dollar price tag and if you can grab it on sale even better.Overall I'd give it 5\/10 lackluster gameplay with fantastic art and a fun premise.. RIGHT IN THE CHILDHOOD!this arcade is pure love to the old ones <3 Full of jokes but straight forward to the action. You must try the Coop and survival modesDon't miss this title :). Amazing and addictive game! It hits you right in the feels with all the winks at vintage games :'), and also provides a great gaming experience. I fully recommend it.
